I can’t imagine not being either a scientist or engineer, I think that they both do an important job (and often unrecognised), I’ve always been interested things that I don’t understand, how they work, what that means for other things…
As for other dreams they are not linked to my job, I can play all I like at home on things that interest me, from community science project (spotting exoplanets) to playing with lego, whilst I love my job, it also allows me to have other interests.

Hi,
I always loved science and mathematics. That being said I hesitated between studying engineering or medicine. In fine I am an engineer and feeling very lucky tobe able to do telecommunications at a point in time where it become increasingly important in the world.

When I was little, I wanted to be an inventor so I guess that you could say that science or engineering has always been my destiny.

When I was very young I wanted to know everything, how things work, why things are the way they are 🙂
I remember trying to make a calculator out of cardboard (obviously that didn’t work at all 😀 ) – I must have been around five or six when electronics started to appeal (cardboard? Pah). So engineering must’ve been there from early on but I didn’t quite realise it until perhaps my late teens.
For a long while I did want to do marine biology (Seaquest DSV anyone?). I also liked the idea of creating animations, and I think this might have been the direction I’d go into if software engineering didn’t work out 🙂
