• Question: Is the wristband mesh network based upon z wave technology?

      The manufacturer doesn’t publish details of the wireless technology used by the wristbands. It would be possible to use Z-wave (in some circumstances), but I suspect that they have used another (custom) wireless technology.

      I was really interested in those wristbands too, they were really cool on the show, but (like Peter said) the makers don’t release any information about them… however I’m sure you could hack yourself something, using RGB LEDs and a little chip or arduino!

      Like Peter and Fiona, I don’t know about the exact technology in the wristbands, but Ciseco (who are a british company making wireless stuff) have something called an RFµ-328, which is an Arduino and radio module combined on a board that’s about the size of a postage stamp. Together with a Neopixel strip, one could very quickly make something that’s equivalent to the wristbands.
